Alex was a contributing reporter for the West Side Rag, covering news and culture on the Upper West Side of Manhattan—from Community Board 7 and Community Education Council District 3 meetings to the latest on elected officials, city agencies, and local businesses. She was also the writer behind the Bird Bulletin, a column featuring topics about birds and the people who love, chase, and help them on the Upper West Side.
Before becoming a lawyer, she served as the lead strategist for the Daily Beast, writing branded content and managing creative campaigns for advertisers. Prior to shifting to publishing, Alex worked as a strategist for creative agencies Milk Studios and Day One Agency, producing advertising campaigns. Alex graduated with a B.S. in Advertising from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2014, and with a J.D. from Fordham Law in 2024.
In her spare time, Alex volunteers in the Butterfly Conservatory at the American Museum of Natural History, as well as for NYC Audubon's Project Safe Flight initiative, a program focused on bird collision research and prevention during spring and fall migration periods.
